—EXPLORE THIS EXHIBIT—
This computer was found at an estate sale in July 2023, and is possibly the newest and fastest machine we’ll come across in an AT form factor. When first seeing the AT keyboard connector at back, along with a 5.25″ floppy drive, we thought this was probably a 486 machine. The emblem on front of case bears the name “naMco” which we can’t yet find any info about, since there is a popular video game shop with the same name. However, this computer packs a punch with a IBM 6×86 PR200+ CPU and 32MB of RAM. Sporting a USRobotics Sportster 33.6K internal ISA modem, we’re currently eyeing this system as a powerful BBS machine.
The 6x86L is a “low power” version of 6×86 with split core and I/O voltage. It runs at 2.8V vs normal versions at 2.9V or higher.
