Despite not being a company focused on networking, Apple has produced several noteworthy networking devices throughout their history. Their early protocol, AppleTalk, spawned a whole ecosystem of products for the Macintosh. One of their major accomplishments was introducing the first 802.11b wireless router known as the Airport in 1999 which drastically lowered the price point of wireless solutions for consumers.
