Originally released in 1993, the ColorBook was Gateway 2000’s flagship notebook through 1994. The notebook was praised for the quality of its display. The product line’s fastest entry was a 486DX4-75 MHz model, with a later DX4-100 MHz offered in a revised version. As with many portable computers of this era, the ColorBook was manufactured by Sotec for Gateway 2000. The ColorBook series reached its end of life in 1995 as it was superseded by the Liberty and Solo series.
